When does the future switch from being a promise to a threat?

Politics takes strange turns and switches when big stakes are involved  , like which party will control the House  and Senate in the November 2014 elections and what President Obama’s legacy will be.
Consider  the Obama administration’s decision to delay the employer mandate until 2015 after the 2014  elections.    Obama's  switch? From supporting the mandate to delaying it.   Obama decided he would rather switch than fight, for the next 16 months at least.
Not to be out-switched, to coin a phrase,  Republicans decided to switch their image from being Champions of Big Business, a place in political hell where Democrats traditionally place them, to being  Champions of the People,  individuals who pay taxes  and health care premiums.
The GOP  says Obama is favoring Business over the People by delaying the Employer Mandate, which effects businesses with 50 or more employees,  but not delaying the Individual Mandate, which effects everybody.
To highlight these differences,  the House Republicans have scheduled two bills – one, to vote on the Employer Mandate delay, and two, to vote on delaying the Individual Mandate.
The idea is to flush Democratic House members out on where  they stand on these two issues – whether they believe Obamacare retards hiring and promotes part-time work over full-time work, and whether they believe it fair to ordinary citizens to pay the freight on Obamacare while Big Business goes scot free
Tweet:   GOP House is switching its perceived allegiance to Big Business to support of The People by asking members to delay the Individual Mandate.
